During the opening ceremony at the Olympics, Mike Pence was seated by South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Jae-in and Abe both stood up in respect as the North Korean athletes were being introduced as Pence stayed seated.
Liberals immediately attacked Pence, wondering why he would be so angry with Colin Kaepernick’s form of protest and do this to North Korea. That’s right, liberals literally can’t understand the difference between disrespect for your own country and disrespecting one of America’s biggest enemies.
“Huh. it’s almost as if Mike Pence is cool with not standing at a sporting event as a form of protest…nah, that can’t be right,” wrote Twitter user named “way gayer, way different, way snippy”. However Conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey had the perfect response in favor of Pence.
“You guys can’t be this stupid. You can’t. Right? Comparing Pence sitting as a form of protest to NK’s dictatorial, inhumane regime to Kaepernick kneeling for the flag of HIS OWN country? You don’t ACTUALLY think that works, right?” she wrote.
Then followed it up with “It’s funny how people are assuming this is an attack against Kaepernick when that’s not even said here. All I said is: it’s not the same, and it’s not hypocritical.” Then “I’ve never argued against Kaepernick’s or anyone’s *right* to protest. I disagree with his motive & even his mode, but I would never deny he has a right, on his own time, to protest however he pleases.”
